As a father, I was annoyed by the experience of the photographer at the hospital we chose. They offered a brief photo shoot (10-15 minutes), guaranteed a small number of images to choose prints from (5 to 10), at a price point that didn’t seem like a fair value ($100 for a handful of low-quality prints that came from an inkjet printer attached to their laptop). Not only that, but we would wind up with the same blue or pink bordered prints as everyone else.
Those hospital sessions are designed to move quickly to give their photographers time to capture everyone that is born each day. Their process is formulaic, and the results are cookie-cutter.
I have the luxury of getting to know you and spending more time with your family. I’ll get much better pictures that convey the emotions of everyone in the room because of that added time, and my ability to blend into the background. Get high resolution images you can share on social media or send to your preferred picture printer to get prints at a fraction of the cost of the hospital photographers.
